The Dog House

The Dog House is located at 664 N Main St, High Point in the downtown area. They have been serving lunch for several decades and still have the cool old school style cash register and lunch counter seats.

I look a seat at a booth by myself after the lunch rush and reviewed the menu on the wall of the booth. This is a really good idea for menu placement- its easier to see with the light right above it and helps to keep them from getting in the way. Menu pricing includes tax which is helpful for quick transactions and accuracy.

My food came out super fast and was just what I wanted. I got my burger with cheese, mayo and ketchup, my hot dog “loaded” with slaw, mustard, chili and onions. Sometimes a simple meal is all you need on a cloudy day. The family that runs this was very nice and welcoming towards me and I really appreciate that especially since it was my first time- but not my last time visiting. Keep in mind they are only open Tuesday - Saturday 11am until 2:30 pm, so keep that in mind before you visit.
