Sushi Republic

The best thing on Tate Street

In partnership with

Sushi Republic is located at 329 Tate St. right beside UNCG. I have always enjoyed their sushi and other items, along with the quiet atmosphere. I ordered Pork Gyoza, Crab Wontons and the Carolina roll.

The crab wontons are absolutely delicious and one of my favorite appetizers ever. They melt in your mouth once you crunch down on the crispy wrapper. The sauce they sit on is nice a sweet with a slight kick that cuts the richness a little bit.

Crab Wontons

For the pork gyoza I choose to get them pan seared instead of steamed- I love a good crunch. They would have seared them a bit more because the outside wasn’t really browned how I wanted.

Lastly I had the Carolina Roll which had a nice tempura crunch on the outside and the rolls are big.

So delicious! I highly recommend trying this place out.
